Dave Bevacqua
Head Baseball Coach

B.A.- Sports Managment, Bemidji State University/University of Minnesota

In 2011 Dave completed his first season as Head Baseball Coach at Hibbing Community College and guided the Cardinals to the NJCAA Region 13 Tournmanet for the first time in ten years. For his efforts, Dave was named 2011 MCAC North Division "Coach of the Year".

Prior to coming to Hibbing, Dave coached high school and American Legion baseball at Nashwauk-Keewatin for twenty-one years. During his tenure at Nashwauk-Keewatin, his high school teams won three Region Championships, eight Northen Lakes Conference titles, and in 2004 he was named the Class A Minnesota Stae "Coach of the Year". His Nashwauk-Keewatin American Legion teams participated in thirteen State tournaments winning a State Championship in 1999 and finishing second in 2003 and 2007.

Dave has had fifteen high school players named to the Minnesota Baseball Coaches Association All-State team, nine were selected to the Lion's All-Star Series and two were the Minnesota Class A "Player of the Year". More than thirty of his former players went on to play college baseball, including two for the University of Minnesota.

Coach Bevacqua played for the Legendary, Dick "Chief" Siebert at the University of Minnesota and was a high school teamate of current Gopher head coach, John Anderson.

Bob DeNucci
Assistant Coach

Bob is a former high school All-State player for coach Bevacqua at Nashwauk-Keewatin. He works with the infielders, is in charge of recruiting and oversees the Driveline Throwing program and weight training.
